Central Ealing Neighbourhood Forum
Picture

What is the Forum?

CENF is a voluntary organisation bringing together residents, community groups, businesses and other key stakeholders to
make Ealing a vital, thriving and sustainable town centre.  Set up under the government's 2011 Localism Act, the Forum has powers to create a neighbourhood plan for the area.

The area

The Forum covers  the main shopping streets and the business quarter stretching from Ealing Common to the fire station, and from the main railway line in the north including Haven Green through to Walpole Park and the University of West London.

The detailed map of the Neighbourhood Area was approved by  the London Borough of Ealing in October 2012 as a "Business Area".  It can be seen as an appendix to the constitution.

The Constitution

The original stakeholders agreed a draft constitution in December 2012.  It and the Forum itself received official recognition from Ealing Council on 26 March 2013.  The first general meeting and election of the Management Committee took place in July 2013. Notes of this and later AGMs can be seen here.

The constitution is on a separate page.

How we are run

The Forum is open to all who live, work, study or just visit central Ealing for shopping or leisure. It meets quarterly and everyone is welcome. News is posted regularly to everyone who signs up to our email list. Notes of past meetings can be seen here.

The management committee consists of 12 people representing local businesses, residents and community organisations, elected each year at the AGM. The committee can co-opt up to six members to ensure that it has a good balance and is representative of the local community. Details of the current members are on a separate page, and notes of past meetings can be seen here.

Our areas of work

Four topic working groups were set up to review the main issues and to collect views on how the town should develop.  They cover:
  • Heritage & open space
  • Transport & getting around
  • Shops, offices & jobs
  • Arts, leisure & community facilities
