Annual General Meeting 2017The 2017 AGM will be held on Wednesday 12 July between 7 pm and 8:45 pm
in the Savoy Suite, University of West London, St Mary’s Road, W5 5EW. All are welcome. In addition to outlining our plans for the referendum, we will also cover the latest position on plans for the cinema site, following a meeting with St George, the developers who have taken the project over from Land Securities. We hope also to have news on progress with plans for a performance arts centre. Formal business will be short, but will include the Chairman’s and financial reports for last year. The meeting will also elect the management committee for the forthcoming year, and be asked to approve an amendment to the constitution (as below) to extend the period for which a committee can serve continuously. Details of the present committee, including where there are at present some vacancies, are shown on a separate page. If you would like to be nominated for election as a representative in one of the sections as appropriate, please contact Tony Miller, the secretary, at [email protected]. Amendment to constitution It is proposed that the last sentence of Clause 5 (a) (Management Committee and Officers) should be amended to read: "The term of office of any member of the Committee shall expire at the next AGM but members shall be eligible to stand for re-election for a continuous period not exceeding seven years." [extended from five] This amendment is proposed to recognise that the work of the Forum in preparing the draft Neighbourhood Development Plan has been rather longer than anticipated, and extending the continous period to seven years would avoid a potentially disruptive loss of continuity. The full constitution can be seen on the relevant page of this web site. |
