Shops, offices & jobs

Ealing’s shops and economy remain strong but the quality varies.

The town centre is not well enough used by local people.   We have an excellent centre for new businesses and further education but many residents choose to shop elsewhere and local office employment is falling.

There is potential to improve the shops and strengthen what’s on offer.  We could respond to Crossrail by making Ealing more of a hub for business, supporting entrepreneurs and making this an attractive place to create businesses and to work.

You told us you wanted
  • more varied and better quality shops
  • more sensitive development
  • support for local businesses to Ealing.
See our draft policies to achieve this.
